Treharris Viaduct with a steam train crossing
The old Treharris viaduct was always filled in when I was young so never seen it like this. It was filled in with waste coal and slag and a year after the pit closed there was a landslide that shut the road between Treharris and Trelewis for a number of days causing long diversions. I have over 50 photos taken on the day of the landslip and the following day by Richard Williams who lived in Railway Terrace a short walk from this area.
